Go beyond the range of trance.
Trance has never been my thing, audibly or visually. Both the sound and the way it has been typically represented traditionally throughout it’s lifespan has always come across as cheesy or tacky to me. I wanted to make something that sat within the expectations for the genre, but keep it simple, clean and elegant.
James Brooke, the director of the audio side of the project, had called the Compilation ‘Trancendence’, and wanted to play upon the visual idea of transcending into heaven. I had zero budget for this, but given the concept, wanted to try my hand at making something using a model and photographer, which I’d not done before. Considering we called in favours and didn’t spend a cent, I was very happy with the output.
